The Big Draw 2017

Join artist Katie Spragg in creating stop- frame animations inspired by nature.

Katie will show you how to draw in three-dimensions using clay before bringing your creation to life using stop-frame animation and sound-effects. Based in the beautiful new Learning Space at the Garden Museum, this workshop will take inspiration from our garden – a garden of treasures.

Autumn Half Term Camp

Come and join us for a 3 day autumn half term cooking camp and sample cuisines from around the world. Each day we’ll explore a different cuisine, which will give us the opportunity to learn new dishes as well as practicing our chopping and cooking skills. At the end of the session we will eat everything we’ve cooked. The course will take place in our new food learning studio. All food and equipment is provided and each session includes a light vegetarian lunch.

Summer Activity Challenge 2017

Welcome to the Children’s University Summer Challenge 2017

We hope you are already enjoying collecting time in your Passport to Learning and that these ideas will inspire you to try even more activities over the summer. If you do not already know about Children’s University, you can find out more here.

Once you have chosen a challenge, discuss your ideas with an adult and agree where you might need any help

You must provide some evidence to your school co-ordinator that you have taken part in the activity. For example you could take a photograph, write a diary, make a voice or video recording or take some examples into school

You might like to include the following in your evidence:

  • When did you complete the activity?
  • Who were you with?
  • What was the easiest/most difficult part of the challenge?
  • Would you do anything differently if you did it again?
  • What would you like to do next?

Get Curious

Research a picture you like – who is the artist, when was it painted – can you create your own version?

The Chicks’ are on the loose in the Museum searching for the giant golden egg. Join the hunt to see if you can find the hidden egg and chick’s by following the trail around the Museum.
